CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 2004--Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY) Staff Professional Annika Sorenstam matched yet another LPGA record on Sunday by recording her fourth consecutive victory in the Mizuno Classic in Shiga, Japan. Demonstrating control of every part of her game, Sorenstam took apart both the Seta Golf Course and the field, shooting 22-under-par 194 for a 9-stroke win over a trio of runnersup. The victory, Sorenstam's seventh of the season, secured her seventh Rolex Player of the Year Award.

The triumph moved Sorenstam into a tie for fifth place with Betsy Rawls on the LPGA's all-time victory list with 55 official wins, and was her 67th worldwide title. In just 17 starts this year, Sorenstam has posted 15 Top 10 finishes.

"Winning four in a row actually was a goal of mine," Sorenstam said. "When I think about it, it's quite an achievement. I'm very proud of it. I felt I played very well all week in all facets of my game. I drove the ball very well and my short game was really sound. It was a great week."

Davies was 49 under par in her four wins at the 72-hole Standard Register Ping for a stroke average of 69.
