CARLSBAD, CA., January 24, 2000 –Staff Professional Jesper Parnevik, representing Callaway Golf (NYSE:ELY), stretched the PGA Tour winning streak for the new Big Bertha Steelhead Plus Fairway Woods to two consecutive weeks with his victory at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Just a week after Paul Azinger used his Steelhead Plus 3-wood to win the Sony Open, Parnevik also used a Steelhead Plus 3-wood in his one-stroke victory.

Parnevik is off to a sizzling start on the PGA Tour. After top-10 finishes in the year’s first two events, he shot five rounds in the 60s and made birdie on the final hole at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic to record the third victory of his PGA Tour career.

“Anytime I’m standing over a shot, it feels like I’m going to hit it within 10 feet of the hole,” said Parnevik, 35. “And that’s just a very good feeling.”

Parnevik used 12 Callaway Golf® clubs in his latest victory, including a Callaway Golf titanium driver, Steelhead Plus 3-wood, Big Bertha® Steelhead™ 5-wood, Big Bertha X-12®Irons and a new Steelhead X-14™ Wedge. Callaway Golf Staff Professionals Rich Beem and Rocco Mediate each recorded top-20 finishes at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic using the new Steelhead Plus Fairway Woods and Steelhead X-14 Irons.

Parnevik wasn’t the only Staff Professional of Callaway Golf to win last weekend. Michael Campbell won the New Zealand Open by eagling the second hole of a playoff. It was the second win in three months for the New Zealand native, who won the Johnnie Walker Classic last November.

Callaway Golf was also triumphant on the LPGA Tour last weekend, as the winner of the Subaru Memorial of Naples used 13 Callaway Golf clubs in her playoff victory. Six of the top seven finishers at the event had Callaway Golf clubs in play.
