CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan 14, 2002 (BW SportsWire) -- Callaway Golf (NYSE:ELY) today announced that Jeff Quinney has agreed to terms with the Company and will join Callaway Golf's team of staff professionals. Quinney, 23, will play Callaway Golf(R) clubs and balls and an Odyssey Golf putter, carry a Callaway Golf staff bag and wear the Company's logo on his hat. Quinney is expected to use a Big Bertha(R) Hawk Eye(R) VFT(R) Pro Series Titanium Driver, a Steelhead Plus(TM) Fairway Wood, Steelhead(R) X-14(R) Pro Series Irons, an Odyssey(R) White Hot(R) 4 Putter and a CTU 30(TM) ball.

Quinney turned professional last summer after playing for the U.S. Walker Cup team. His biggest victory to date was his thrilling win at the 2000 U.S. Amateur. Quinney won the championship by using an Odyssey White Hot Putter to roll in a 30-foot birdie putt on the 39th hole of play. Quinney's other victories in 2000 included the Oregon Amateur and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association Amateur, and he was the medallist at the USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship and a member of the victorious U.S. World Amateur team. During his outstanding collegiate career at Arizona State University - where he holds the Karsten Course record with a 62 -- Quinney won multiple tournaments and was a three-time All-America selection.
