CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2003--Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY) Staff Professional Annika Sorenstam added another major championship to her impressive collection by winning the McDonald's LPGA Championship yesterday. Sorenstam's tap-in par on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff secured the fifth major championship of her Hall-of-Fame career and her fourth international victory of the 2003 season. The victory was also the second in as many weeks on the LPGA Tour after Sorenstam's historic appearance on the PGA Tour at the Bank of America Colonial.

"Winning is what it's all about," said Sorenstam, who played a total of 34 holes on Sunday at the rain-plagued event. "At the Colonial it was about the journey to winning, and I learned so much that week. Maybe all that pressure I experienced is what helped me to win today."

Sorenstam was one of two players to finish the McDonald's LPGA Championship under par, carding a 6-under-par 278 in regulation play at Dupont Country Club.
